THE LAST DAYS OF JESUS

JESUS  ENTERING  JERUSALEM

On Palm Sunday  which is the Sunday before the Easter  Jesus  rode  from the Mount  of Olives  to Jerusalem  on  a Donkey.

This happened  to fulfill  what  the Prophet Zachariah  had  said "tell  the city of Zion, 'Look  , yuor  king is coming to you!  He is humble and rides  on donkey and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.'"

In order to welcome Jesus with honor , many people cut branches from the palm trees  and spread them on the road. The crowd  shouted "Hosanna! Praise to david's Son! Blesses is he who comes in the name of the lord ! Hosanna  in the highest!"

As  he approached jesusalem and sawa the city , he wept over it , saying "If you only knew this day what is needed for peace! But now you cannot see  it! The time will come when your enemies will  surround you and close in on you from every side.They will not leave a single stone in its place, because you did not recognize the time when God came to save you!"

When he came into the city , he went up to the Temple, there he saw that many were doing business , buying and selling , so he overturned the tables of the money -changers and those who sold pigeons.He said to them," It is written that my house will be called a house of prayer,But you have made it a hideout for thieves." Then many sick, blind and crippled,came to him in the Temple,and he healed them..

In the evening he went to Betahany  ,but a day time he came to the Temple to teach .The people were eagerly listening to him. But the chief priests and the elders met in the place of Caiaphass, the high Priest.They plotted together to find a way to kill Jesus .Then Judas Iscariot  ,one of the twelve disciples,came to them and said "What will you give me if I hand Jesus over to yuo?" They gave him thirty pieces of silver. From then on Judas looked for an opportunity to betray Jesus ( Read Mathew  21 :1-17. Luke 19 : 28-48, Mathew 26: 14 :-16)
